On Tuesday evening last, May 17th 2022 Killoughteen NS hosted a cookery demonstration and launched a fundraiser in the Longcourt House Hotel.

Wade Murphy, award winning chef, owner of 1826 restaurant in Adare and TV chef on the RTE Today Show led the show and made it very enjoyable. He shared some of his wonderful recipes and prepared beautiful food which some lucky audience members got to try out. We hope that you all picked up lots of culinary tips from the event.

Killoughteen NS unveiled 3D images of the current build project which is currently under construction. By the spring of 2023 we hope to have 2 extra mainstream classes with ensuite toilets, 1 SET room, 2 ASD classes and ancillary accommodation, a Hall and new drop off and collection area fully completed. The preschool Killoughteen Kids is also being moved across the road to the new drop off and collection area. The school and local community have helped us to make this vision become a reality in helping us to raise €40,000 to date.

The school is now requesting your help one last time. It is our ambition to upgrade our play and recreational areas for our pupils. To help us achieve this goal, we are asking past & present pupils, businesses and community members to support our two fundraising initiatives. Buy a Brick & Split the Pot. Full details of both are available on our school website. Just click on the Donate tab on our home page. Split the Pot is a weekly event with winners chosen on Thursday and posted to our school Facebook page.  Bricks purchased will be place on the front wall of the new school hall. If you have any questions, please contact the school via email info@killoughtenns.com or phone 06961195.

Sincere thanks to the Longcourt House Hotel for their excellent hospitality in a beautiful venue, to Wade Murphy of 1826 in Adare, Tom Flavin for his demo kitchen, Antoin Fitzsimons for sound and display, to our many generous sponsors who donated excellent spot prizes for the night.
