We have gotten up to lots of new and exciting things in our first term in Miss. Sweeney’s classroom. For five of the children in our room it was their first time at Killoughteen National School. Ben, Hannah, Evie and Kalum are in Junior Infants. Joshua is in Senior Infants and Alex in in First Class.
We spent September getting to know each other better and learned about all the things we love to do! Ben loves the Gruffalo-especially when Trish reads it and does all the funny voices. Evie is excellent at jigsaws and the Frozen jigsaw with Anna and Elsa is her favourite. Kalum loves ironman and building iron man suits with Lego. Hannah’s favourite thing to do is be swung around-she especially loves when she gets to go around really quickly. Joshua also loves superheroes and he is super at maths. Alex is the oldest in our class and really looks after his younger friends-he shows them where to sit and keeps an eye out for them on the yard! Alex is excellent at drawing and loves to bring his drawings home to his family.
We are really lucky this year to have an outdoor play area just outside our classroom. We have a balance board, trampoline, climbing frame and a digger! We love going out there to play when the weather is dry. The boys love the trampoline, and the girls really like to blow and pop bubbles. Annette plays us lovely music while we play outside.
In October we dressed up for Halloween! We really loved the costume parade on the astro-turf and we all joined in! Evie dressed up as Elsa, Hannah was a spooky skeleton,Ben was a pirate,Kalum was ironman,Joshua was a knight and Alex was a wolf! We ate some Halloween treats and had great fun!
Decemeber is going to be a busy month in our classroom! Santa has already visited us and gave each of us a selection box. We joined in with some lovely song singing for Santy Claus. No doubt we will have lots more fun in the new year!
