Thanks to SSE Airtricity

We in Killoughteen NS would like to express our sincere thanks to SSE Airtricity who through their COVID-19 Response Fund donated €3000 to our school community.

To date, we have purchased chess and draughts games for our pupils from 1st to 6th classes. We have taught the children most of the rules of chess and intend to have a school league as the year progresses.  The children are very much enjoying the games and whilst doing so are improving their memory and concentration.  It is great exercise for the brain and improves problem solving skills.

New toys for the infant classes and our Rainbow Room were purchased also.

All classes in the school got some new PE equipment that they use at playtime. They got soccer balls, dodge balls, frisbees, skipping ropes, Hula Hoops etc.  They are having great fun with these.
