Our class studied the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. Watching a short documentary, we followed his journey to becoming one of the most famous artists in the world (also, literally as he traveled for much of his short life). It was interesting to learn that he only sold one of his paintings while he was alive as his paintings are now worth millions! Examining his work closely, heavy, swirling brush strokes and lots of blended vivid colour were clear to see. Using oil pastels and paint, we worked collaboratively to re-create murals of two of Van Gogh’s most famous pieces, ‘Starry Night’ and ‘Sunflowers’. Have a look at our work!
