Killoughteen NS had a great day on Friday the 3rd as we welcomed many of the children’s grandparents and great grandparents to our school as part of Catholic Schools Week. Our pupils were thrilled to show off their classrooms to their grandparents and to introduce them to some of their friends.
Some of our pupils interviewed some of the grandparents to see if they could attain some knowledge of the history of Killoughteen NS. They are hoping to create a crest for the school based on its history. If anyone missed out in this opportunity of an interview, or would like to send in any information on the history of our school it would be greatly appreciated.
Our pupils brought in plenty of treats for our grandparents. Our brilliant parents made sure that all our grandparents got a nice cuppa and a treat and were made feel very welcome in the school.
Special thanks to Mary Smith, Miriam Shanahan, Maureen Tierney,(Parents Association chairperson, treasurer and secretary) Catherine Brosnan, Ann Sheedy and Linda Dore who worked so hard on the day. Thanks to all the teachers and staff for making this a special day for our pupils’ grandparents. We hope you all enjoyed it.
