On the 13th of March 2018, 4th class boys and a few of 3rd class boys went to indoor hurling at the community centre in Newcastle West. At 10:10 we got on a bus and drove into the community centre.
The first game was against Ardagh. With a great win of 12-0 and a great team effort we went into the next game feeling confident that we would beat Feenagh. It was a tough match. We were down 3-0, but a little advice from Noel O’Connor we changed our game completely. With a hat-trick from Paul Logue, 2 goals by Darragh Tierney and a goal from Donnacha Larkin it was now 5-5 with two minutes to go. A lovely pass from Darragh Tierney to Paul Logue, Paul put it in the back of the net for a 6-5 win over Feenagh that put us into the Semi-finals facing a very hard Adare team. An opening goal by Josh Cummins put us in the lead 1-0 up, but as the match progressed it wasn’t going our way as Adare proved to be the stronger side on the day with an 8-1 victory. Overall we had a great day out and enjoyed it a lot with great team effort from: Darragh Tierney, Darragh Doherty, Josh Cummins, Paul Logue, Robert O’Grady, Luca McCormack, Aaron Upton, Donnacha Larkin, Mark Cussen and Sean Sexton.
We would like to Thank Mr. Curtin our Principal and Also Noel O’Connor who comes of a Thursday to teach us hurling. We will be back stronger than ever Next Year.
