On June 20th we were all very excited as Active Week was just beginning and it was our last week of school before the summer holidays. Our principal had the route marked out with signs for the public and had parents and local Gardaí asked to escort us along the route until we reached the ‘Great Southern Trail’. It was a lovely day, not too hot and the sun was shining. We set off from school at 11:00am and the route was just over 7km. We were all back at school before big lunch and were delighted to have walked such a good distance in a short space of time. It was great to have a large parent participation on the day also. Sincere thanks to all who helped us out. We can’t wait to do this again.
