On Saturday 21st April we had a Ballad Group, a Music Group, a Sean Nós dancer, a Solo Singer and Recitation representing Killoughteen N.S. in ‘Scór na bpáistí’ in LIT Theatre in Limerick. Scór na bPáistí is a competition ran by the G.A.A. promoting our culture in music, song, dance and recitation similar to the Junior and Senior Scór run in winter time each year. Míle buíochas to Miss Ryan and Mrs Mulroe for helping the children to prepare for this.
I am delighted to inform you that our music group of Sinéad Brosnan, Kate Foley, Eimear Dore, Paul Logue and Amy Foley came second playing ‘Jimmy Duffy’s Barndance’.
Kate Foley represented us in Recitation reciting ‘The Old Woman of the Roads’. Kate did extremely well coming in second place. Sinéad Brosnan danced a brush dance in the Sean Nós dancing competition and came joint third.
Well done to Aideen Reidy who performed a Solo Song called ‘Siúil a Rúin’ and to our Ballad group who also sang ‘Siúil a Rúin’. They all did our school proud!
