As the Christmas season approached, our Well-Being Committee wondered how they could best help spread a little Christmas cheer amongst our community. Unable to do their usual carol service, the pupils decided to put pen to paper and write to the local nursing homes instead. Children across all classes designed a Christmas card for our dear friends of St. Ita’s, St. Catherine’s, Beechwood Gardens and Killeline Nursing Home.
The children greatly enjoyed making their cards and the senior classes were also kind enough to include a letter with theirs. We’re sure these cards have helped put smiles on many a face this Christmas and will be warmly cherished for a long time to come. Please see a selection of some of the beautiful cards below.
Once the boys and girls had put the finishing touches to their cards, it was time to deliver them. And so dressed in their festive jumpers, Sixth Class kindly agreed to deliver the cards in person on Friday last, where they were warmly welcomed by staff and residents alike. We’d also like to say a very big thank you to the wonderful staff of St. Ita’s, St. Catherine’s, Beechwood Gardens and Killeline Nursing Home for accommodating our visit and passing on our cards.
And while this promises to be a very different Christmas for us all, we felt it was more important than ever this year to reach out and let others know that we are thinking of them and sending them our warmest wishes. We hope we receive some replies in the New Year and promise to keep you posted.
Wishing you all a safe and Happy Christmas,
The Well-Being Committee
