We did our art based on a water class we had earlier this year. We looked at things that were waterproof. What are buckets/ raincoats made of? Why?
We saw that they are made of plastic and metal mainly as they won’t leak. They aren’t made from wool, cotton or things like that because the water would go through them. Our rain coats are made from an oily type material to make sure they keep the water out.
We then looked at wax crayons. We coloured in a sea scene with fish and algae. When we finished this we painted over all the picture in diluted blue paint. The paint didn’t mix with the crayons as the wax is water proof. It didn’t let the wet paint stick on to it. Please look at our pictures below.
