Today Newcastle West mens & Monagea Ladies senior football teams came to visit the school this morning. Both teams were successful in winning County Finals recently.
Newcastle West Senior Mens Football team beat Adare in the Gaelic grounds recently to win the Senior County Final for the 3rd year in a row. The team is managed by Jimmy Lee & Captained by Iian Corbett. Some past pupils of the school played with the team including Ethan Hurley, Sean Murphy & Niall McAuliffe, along with Mike McMahon (dad to Lacey & Max), Bryan Kelly (uncle to Ollie).
Visiting today were Iian Corbett, Mike McMahon and Joey Healy.
Monagea Ladies Senior Football team won their third successive county final against St Ailbes recently. Their captain is Yvonne Lee. Past pupils include Amy Curtin and Ella Whelan. Karen O’Leary (Ollie Kellys aunt) also plays with the team. Four members of the Monagea team won GAA All Stars recently in Croke Park.
Visiting today were Deborah Murphy, Roisin Browne, Aoife Corbett and Ellie Woulfe.
