On 25th November 2024 we had a new pupil join our school – Eden our school therapy dog!
She met all the classes on her first week and the children all love her!
Why this is amazing for our school:
SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Pupils will learn valuable skills by caring for the dog
SENSORY REGULATION: A calming presence for pupils needing help with sensory processing
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT: Assistance for pupils struggling with their feelings & will decrease anxiety
COMMUNICATION: The therapy dog will help breakdown any communication barriers for our pupils
COMPANIONSHIP: Will act as a source of support for all pupils by being a source of friendship for all
The cost of having a School Therapy Dog is approximately €2000 per year.
