5th and 6th class have been learning about time, speed and distance in Maths. We decided to calculate our average running speed per second. We used our trundle wheel to measure a distance of 40 metres across the playground. We then used our ipads to time each other running our fastest 40 metres. By dividing the distance by time taken, we could calculate our average speed in metres per second. Well done to our fastest runner Kate Foley who achieved 5.92 metres per second. We also learned that Usain Bolt can run 10.43 metres per second!
