This year we signed up Killoughteen NS to the Cross Country running . We did lots of practice at school where all children from second to sixth class tried to secure a place to go to the competition. It was very competitive and great enthusiasm was shown by the boys and girls.

Today October 16th, we set off with 35 pupils for Patrickswell Racecourse to take part in the cross country competitions. The children were excited and nervous at the same time. The sun was shining and  there was a huge number of contestants there as we arrived.

We got our race numbers and prepared for the races. It began with the U8’s and finished with the U12’s.

It was a very successful day and we came home with two girls getting 3rd place medals. Well done to Emma Horgan in second class and Alice McKernan in third class. All our boys and girls did extremely well and we may get some team medals in the next day or so when all results are collated. Well done everyone.
