On March 16th, 3rd, 4th and 5th class girls went to an indoor blitz in Newcastle West Community Centre. Mia, Jade and Cagla from 4th class, Kayleigh and Sarah from 3rd, and Eimear, Alannah, Olivia and Katelynn from 5th class. Eimear was picked to be captain of the team.
The first team we played were Scoil Íosaf. The score at the end of that match was 6-1 in favour of Killoughteen NS. After this we played Feenagh and won on a score of 8-1. We were now through to the semi-final against Ardagh. At the final whistle the score was 3-3. It went to sudden death. Mia scored the winning 4th goal and everyone was so excited. We were through to the final against Shauntrade.
It was a really tough game and Shauntrade won 7-1. We were devasted but we were reminded about how great we had played throughout the day. Mr Curtin is organising a presentation for the medals that we won on the day of this blitz. Well done girls and thanks to Mr Curtin for bringing us.
