5th and 6th class won a robotics workshop in a competition in Association with Analog Devices. A company called Learnit came to the school on February 1st. They split the pupils into teams of three and four. Using Lego, each team built their own robot. They learned how to use a coding system to programme their robot to move around a maze. The kids had a fantastic day and one group were selected to move on to the county finals in robotics which will be held in March. I would like to wish Evan Broderick, Jack Kelly and William Ahern the very best of luck in the Analog Devices Robotics Competition which takes place in the Analog Devices Sports and Social facility in Mungret on Saturday the 3rd of March. The boys will have to build and programme a robot which will compete against other robots made by pupils from 29 other schools in Co. Limerick.
