On December 21st, Killoughteen NS had a very important guest in the school. It was the big man him-self, Santa Claus.

The children were buzzing with excitement as Santa approached Killoughteen NS. All classes were out in the yard, singing songs and spreading the Christmas cheer. Santa had great news. He was coming in just 4 more sleeps and that all children were on the good list. Santa was answering questions, singing songs with the children, taking photographs, and giving advice. He asked that all children continue to be very good for their teachers and parents. Please leave out some cookies, milk and some carrots on Christmas eve and go to bed early!

Magically when all children returned to their classes, a selection box awaited all pupils at their desks. Thank you, Santa, from all in Killoughteen.

Santa’s visit to Killoughteen was organised in association with Noonan’s Lights for Christmas! Due to Covid 19 the wonderland of lights which has brought the crowds annually for almost 20 years to the Noonan household in Templeglantine won’t be on show this year. It was a very difficult decision to make, but the safety of visitors was a big concern for the Noonan family.

There is a GoFundMe page set up for this year for anyone who wishes to donate this year. Please click on the link below for further information. If you would like to support,  any donations – big or small – will be greatly appreciated.

Noonan’s Lights for Charity

Many thanks to Tony Noonan for visiting our school and  to our anonymous sponsor who donated a selection box to all children! It went down a TREAT!

Please see a few pictures below of the visit to Killoughteen NS.
