‘Today, Thursday, March 3rd we celebrated World Book Day. It was great to return to some pre Covid 19 activities in school. The children were excited to visit each other’s classrooms and to be together for the first time in 2 years at school. We enjoyed seeing our pupils all dressed up as characters from their favourite books. The children put in great effort and also brought in their favourite story books from home. They were paired up with children from different classes and were afforded the opportunity to engage in shared reading. It was very much enjoyed by all pupils.

As part of this day, we tried to do something to help the people of Ukraine. We have a number of pupils in our school community that have family members and many friends living in or bordering Ukraine. This is a very anxious and worrying time for their families and the world. We asked our pupils and families to make a  small donation towards the Red Cross to help the people of Ukraine to get some food and medical supplies. Our community has made a very generous contribution of €800 to date. We thank you all for your kindness and generosity.
